Beautiful Spring Day in Williamston

The weather was perfect this morning, not as windy as it has been so we took Taite and Caleb for a walk.  Andrea and Travis took Owen for a weight check to Greenville.
The Bradford Pear trees are looking splendid.  I was thrilled not to be sneezing due to allergies.  This will start very soon and I won't be able to take walks.
Taite hides behind a very interesting and old tree.

Another very old tree (Crape Myrtle) worth hugging.

Taite would not share Nana's shades. Taite is a joy but three year olds talk constantly and can push a button or two....LOL...He's very loving and he tells me over and over he likes me...and Papa too.
I did get the chance to hold Owen this morning before he left to see the doctor. He turned 6 days old today.
He gets much comfort from the pacifier. The nurses had told Andrea not to give him one since she is nursing.  What is a baby to do but eat, sleep and be comforted in between feedings by his pacifier.  Better to suck on one than later on reach for the hand and thumb.

Fall Festival at West End Baptist Church

Last night we went to the West End Baptist Church where Travis my son in law is the pastor.  The kids are very much into super heroes.  The church had games and activities for the children in the community.  Caleb and Taite have a sweet tooth just like their daddy...mommy too, I guess.  Travis said they just wanted to sit down and eat candy.  Taite, wearing the blue cape was Batman and Caleb Spiderman.  Taite worked hard trying to open his Smarties.

Caleb - Spider Man

Isn't he the cutest Batman you ever saw.  I think he's trying to open his smarties in the picture too.

Eating the Hot Dog supper

Andrea painted lots of kids faces---at least one adult lady.

Internet is slow -- More pictures later on....

Fall Visit to Williamston - The Arrival

Taite and Caleb look into the dark water of the lake on the grounds of the Big Mill Bed and Breakfast were we are staying.  The boys have grown since the last time we came.  It's such a joy to spend time with them.

Caleb walked through the soybean field near the Bed and Breakfast.  He wants to dress up as a skeleton but he'll also be spiderman.

Taite - Looking sweet near the lake.  A very special boy--so affectionate.

Sweet picture of Andrea and Taite

Taking a walk and heading towards our room.  Hope the weather gets better so I can take some better pictures. Today (Sunday) has been raining pretty much all day.

On the Road to Delaware

My daughter took this picture while I worked on a crochet hat. It looks like I was sewing the side seam. She is an amazing photographer. Do take the time to visit her site. I am fortunate to be able to do this during long trips. The trip from Williamston to Delaware is 5 hours and it sure helps to keep occupied doing one of my favorite things. I took a book just in case, but I did not read.

Aura working on Square Shape Crochet Baby Hat

I completed four of these square shape hats during this trip.It was made with my favorite cotton yarn, called I Love This Yarn. It is available at Hobby Lobby.
This one is so cute extremely cute in the variegated fall colors.
So what do you like to do during those long road trips?

A Short and Visit with the Grandkids - Day Two

On our second day we visited a real neat place called Deadwood which has a restaurant and rides for kids and adults. Caleb holds to ticket for the train ride. Notice Taite wore his Batman cape. The owners of this Deadwood in Williamston have recreated a western town set back in the 1870s. The original tv series Deadwood was located in South Dakota.

The Train we Rode

What is it about Roller Coasters that make us laugh - really laugh out loud. Me and Caleb rode it first and Taite who just made the 36" height allowed begged to ride it. Brave little guy he is. He was squished in the middle and I had to make sure he did not slide down. This was a real shaky ride. This fun ride cost $2.00 per rider. Taite was free.
Caleb could have gone on the roller coaster ride more times, I'm sure. He had such a good time watching other people on the ride.

Me and Andrea

Cliff and Travis relaxing. I'm not sure if they would have fit in the roller coaster cart.

Forgot to mention that during our train ride, we saw skeletons, coffins, Indian tepees, aliens and their space ships, alien monsters....What fun....I'm sure I'll be going back to this place.
